If you wish to gain your bronze Medallion course will start on Tuesday 19th November at the WSLSC with the 400m swim on Sunday 27th October and Sunday 17th of November at Jason Lamb Splash Factory.

Bronze 19th November – 22nd December (400 swim 27th Oct. and 17th November)

Candidates must meet all of the following conditions:
candidates must be at least 15 years of age on the date of final assessment
prior to starting the course, must have the ability to swim 400 metres in nine (9) minutes or less, unaided (goggles/masks permitted) in a swimming pool of not less than 25 metres. This will be observed prior to the candidate undertaking any water training or assessment activities.
members who are unsure of their swimming ability must ensure they can meet the above time prior to attending the course.
attendance at all sessions is mandatory to complete this course
Be a financial member of an SLS club;

Bronze Medallion dates.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver in Australia.
Gaining your Bronze and participating in beach patrols over the summer also means you can represent the club at beach, surf, and rowing carnivals.

The course will run on the following dates:
Sunday 27th October – 11.00 am – 12.30 pm 400m swim, board, and spinal board familiarisation (SRC Bridging) Pool swim, Venue Jason Lamb Splash Factory
Sunday 17th November- 11.30 am – 400m swim, board, and spinal board familiarisation (SRC Bridging) Pool swim, Venue Jason Lamb Splash Factory
Tuesday 19th November – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Sunday 24th November – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC
Tuesday 26th November – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Saturday 30th November – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC
Sunday 1st December – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC
Tuesday 3rd December – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Wednesday 4th December– 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Tuesday 10th December – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Wednesday 11th December– 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC
Sunday 15th December– 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC
Tuesday 17th December Training/Catch up – If required
Wednesday 18th December training/Catch up – If required
Sunday 22nd December – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm Bronze and Bridging assessment

Most of the training will take place at the club and will be a mixture of theory, CPR & first aid, and beach & open water-based practical activities. It would be a good idea to bring a wetsuit to every session as the water is still quite cold.
