If you wish to gain your SRC the course will start on Tuesday 19th November at the WSLSC with the 400m swim on Sunday 27th October and Sunday 17th of November at Jason Lamb Splash Factory.

SRC 19th November – 1st December (400 swim 27th Oct. and 17th November)

Candidates must meet all of the following conditions:
be at least 13 years of age on the date of final assessment
prior to starting the course, must have the ability to swim 200 metres in five (5) minutes or less, unaided (goggles/mask permitted) in a swimming pool of not less than 25 metres. This will be observed prior to the candidate undertaking any water training or assessment activities.
members who are unsure of their swimming ability must ensure they can meet the above time prior to attending the course. If a member cannot meet the above time on the first day, they will not be able to participate in any further water activities and may be removed from the course.
attendance at all sessions is mandatory to complete this course.
Be a financial member of an SLS club;

SRC dates.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations.

The course will run on the following dates:
Sunday 27th October – 11.00 am – 12.30 pm 400m swim, board, and spinal board familiarisation (SRC Bridging) Pool swim, Venue Jason Lamb Splash Factory
Sunday 17th November- 11.30 am – 400m swim, board, and spinal board familiarisation (SRC Bridging) Pool swim, Venue Jason Lamb Splash Factory
Tuesday 19th November – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC – Bronze and SRC
Sunday 24th November – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC – Bronze and SRC
Tuesday 26th November – 5.00 am – 7.30 pm WSLSC – Bronze and SRC
Saturday 30th November – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC – Bronze and SRC
Sunday 1st December – 10.00 am – 2.00 pm WSLSC – SRC Assessment TBC

Most of the training will take place at the club and will be a mixture of theory, CPR & first aid, and beach & open water-based practical activities. It would be a good idea to bring a wetsuit to every session as the water is still quite cold.
