Bronze Medallion dates and SRC bridging.

The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to assist with surf life-saving patrol operations. Gaining your Bronze and participating in beach patrols over the summer also means you can represent the club at beach, surf, and rowing carnivals.
The course will run on the following dates:
Saturday 11th November – 10.00 am – 3.30 pm WSLSC – Bronze
Sunday 12th November- 11.30 am – 400m swim, board, and spinal board familiarisation (SRC Bridging) Pool swim, Venue Jason Lamb Splash Factory
Tuesday 14th November – 5.30 am – 8.00 pm WSLSC – Bronze
Thursday 16th November – 5.30 am – 8.00 pm WSLSC – Bronze
Saturday 18th November – 10.00 am – 3.30 pm Bronze and SRC Bridging
Tuesday 21st November – 5.30 am – 8.00 pm Bronze and SRC Bridging
Thursday 23rd November – 5.30 am – 8.00 pm Bronze and SRC Bridging
Sunday 26th November – 9.45 am – 4.00 pm Bronze and SRC Bridging
Tuesday 28th November Training/Catch up
Tuesday 5th November training/Catch up
Saturday 9th December – 11.45 am – 5.00 pm Bronze and SRC Bridging assessment

Most of the training will take place at the club and will be a mixture of theory, CPR & first aid, and beach & open water-based practical activities. It would be a good idea to bring a wetsuit to every session as the water is still quite cold. We are also planning some pool sessions at Jason Lamb Splash Factory so that we can work on specific techniques in warmer water.
There are three prerequisites for this course. You must be:
– 15 years or older (within 60 days of the final assessment),
– a current financial member of the club, and
– be able to swim 400m in 9 minutes or less.
You can sign up for this course by visiting https://mt.lsv.com.au/login and signing in with your SLS Members portal login details.
Interested but can’t make these dates? Please email us to let us know you are interested in doing one of our future courses.
SRC
If you have obtained your Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) within the last two years and want to up-skill to a Bronze Medallion – you can now enroll in an SRC to Bronze Medallion bridging course which will see SRC attending the second half of the course.
